Does your property investment company have your best interests in mind?

You’ve been thinking about investing in property for a while now. You’ve done some research. You’ve spoken to friends and fellow property investors. It feels like a financial move that could help you build wealth over the long term.

But investing in property is still a big decision.

Naturally, you don’t want to throw your equity at just anyone and hope you’re getting a good deal.

So how do you work that out?

First, let’s not assume every company that makes money from property investment is working against you. Businesses need to make money. Builders need to be paid to build. Brokers, conveyancers and other professionals may all have a commercial role in the process.

What matters is whether you understand who’s involved, what role they play and what that means for you. That’s where trust and transparency begin.

A good property investment conversation should give you clarity

There’s a lot to learn when you’re first investing in property.

  • The property.
  • Finance.
  • Contracts.
  • Research.
  • Building.
  • Advice from your accountant or financial planner.
  • The whirlwind of emotions riding shotgun.

You don’t need to become an expert in all of these areas. That’s why property investment specialists exist: to help you navigate them.

But you should leave a conversation understanding the decision better than when you walked in.

That means being able to ask:

  • Why this property?
  • Why this location?
  • Who are the businesses involved?
  • What role does each of them play?
  • What should I take away and discuss with my own advisers?

You should be able to have an open conversation about those questions and understand the reasoning behind the recommendation.

Is there room to bring other experts into the conversation?

The goal isn’t to find a company with no commercial interest in your decision. It’s to understand the relationship clearly enough to make your move with confidence.

Consumer Affairs Victoria recommends seeking independent legal and financial advice before investing in property.

Your investment needs to make sense within the bigger picture of your finances. You may want your accountant involved or a broker you trust. You might want your solicitor or conveyancer to review the documents before you sign.

A transparent process leaves room for that.

You should be able to have an open conversation about those questions and understand the reasoning behind the recommendation.

You shouldn’t be pushed to move fast

Property can move quickly. That doesn’t mean your thinking has to.

Consumer Affairs Victoria advises buyers not to rush or let others pressure them into hasty property decisions.

A good process gives you enough information to understand what you’re considering before you commit. That doesn’t mean every decision needs to take weeks.

It simply means urgency shouldn’t replace understanding.

Where does Investor Assist fit into all of this?

We’re one connected team built around your property investment journey.

When you work with Investor Assist, you have access to specialists across:

  1. ABN Group, the builder behind your property
  2. Resolve Finance, your finance partner
  3. External financial planners and accountants, neutral parties to prevent any bias
  4. Investor Assist, the opportunity, research and one team going all in with you

Rather than each part operating in isolation, we connect capability across property, finance and build.

And we tell you how those relationships work upfront, so you know who’s involved and the role they play.

We don’t expect you to hand over trust at the start of a conversation. We’d rather give you the clarity to build it for yourself.

We’ll tell you if it’s a bad idea

Sometimes, after looking at the numbers, your circumstances or the opportunity itself, the answer may be not to proceed.

And that’s okay too.

Because building wealth through property starts with understanding what you’re investing in.

Our role isn’t to get you into any property; it’s to help you understand the opportunity in front of you and whether it makes sense for your financial goals and ambitions.
